Florence is playing host to the 77th edition of the Pitti Immagine Uomo, an international fashion event designed to showcase the best of Italy's haute couture industry.
People booking hotels in Florence may want to head down to the Fortezza da Basso, where the main event will take place.
The Pitti Immagine Uomo is a feast of male fashion, featuring premieres and international debuts from both Italian and foreign fashion houses.
Throughout the event, which runs from January 12th to 15th 2010, more than 700 companies will exhibit some of their latest offerings on the 14 stages that will guide visitors through the world of men's fashion.
Fashionistas will also be treated to a new layout for this year's show, with the main pavilion undergoing a re-design by Patricia Urquiola. This will offer an "urban fashion district" where fashion houses will display their wares.
A special exhibition space outside the Arena Strozzi will also be erected. Eli Di Franco will be presenting its latest designs on the stage, as will Fornarina. The latter will see its Fornarina Sportglam collection make its international debut on the fashion scene.
If you're heading to the Pitti Immagine Uomo this year, we strongly advise that you book your hotel Firenze as soon as possible, given the huge popularity of the event.
Other attractions in the Tuscan regional capital include the Battistero di San Giovanni - believed to be the oldest building in the city - and Florence's cathedral, the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore.
