Italian fashion clothing brand, Versace has won a counterfeiting and trademark case in the US and has been awarded $20 million in claims.
In 2003, US investigators charged 72 retail stores in California and Arizona with selling counterfeit Versace branded goods.
Versace CEO, Gian Giacomo Ferraris, welcomed the verdict and said that it was a historic judgment for other Italian brands too.
According to Versace, the compensation awarded by the court, is the highest ever won abroad by an Italian firm, related to a counterfeiting case.
