p> PUWORLD(2010-03-17) Recently domestic propylene prices are rising; reasons behind the upturn are, first, the supply limitation from USA which is resulted by rising local demand; second is the supply shortage from Japan which was caused by the transportation problems there; third is the approaching maintenances of facilities at Northeast Asia, which forces Chinese producers to stock up therefore boosts demand.
In China, as local production capacity is too limited to meet local demand players largely demand on imports; that s why propylene prices edge up when imports are commonly available.
Data related showed that local supply of propylene would climb up to the level of 10490-10960kt by this year whilst demand at about 19050kt. More and more imports are needed to meet increasing demand from downstream fields.
