BUDAPEST, Jan. 6 - Hungary's oil and gas company Mol was found to be the country's biggest business last year based on revenue, followed by Audi Hungaria and E. ON Natural Gas Trade, business magazine HVG reported on Wednesday.

This is the fourth year in a row that HVG has put together a Top 500 list of Hungarian companies and the second time Mol has gained the top slot. The magazine will publish its complete list on Thursday.

According to HVG, Mol's revenue rose by 35 percent in 2009, while Audi's remained steady and E.ON Natural Gas was up by 21 percent.

The data for the list was compiled by the Hungarian arm of Creditre form, one of the leading business information providers in Europe, after analyzing data from 6,000 businesses. According to HVG, the Top 500 companies cover most of the Hungarian economy and account for 86 percent of its exports. Despite the economic downturn, the cash inflows of the Top 500 increased by 13 percent in 2009 compared to 2008.
