Goodrich Petroleum to buy Haynesville assets in Texas

Dec 3 - Independent oil and gas explorer Goodrich Petroleum Corp (GDP.N) said it agreed to buy 12,000 net acres in the Haynesville shale in Texas, and forecast production volumes to grow 15 percent to 25 percent in 2010.

Goodrich Petroleum also set a preliminary 2010 capital expenditure budget of $230 million, of which about two-thirds will be spent on its core Haynesville shale assets in Caddo and DeSoto Parishes, Louisiana.

After the acquisition, the company said it would have about 85,000 net acres prospective for the Haynesville shale.

Shares of the Houston-based company closed at $22.15 Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange.
