OSHA sends BP Texas dispute to review commission

HOUSTON, Oct 21 - The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration sent BP Plc's (BP.L) request for more time to fix safety problems at its Texas City, Texas, refinery to a review commission, according to an Oct. 15 letter the agency sent the British energy giant.

OSHA officials objected to the request, saying BP had failed to show how it would fix safety problems found after a deadly 2005 explosion at the refinery, according to the letter seen by Reuters.

BP said the review by the OSHA Review Commission would prove the company has lived up to its agreement to fix problems at Texas City.
