LONDON, Sept 3 - U.S. energy company Chevron (CVX.N) said its Nigerian onshore oil operations, which had previously suffered disruptions, were functioning as normal on Thursday.
Chevron said on May 25 it had shut in approximately 100,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil production from its swamp operations in Delta state following an attack by militants. This outage affected the Escravos crude oil production, traders said.
Around 150,000 bpd of exports from the Escravos stream operated by Chevron were delayed to September from August, according to loading schedules.
Since then output looks to have recovered with preliminary loading programmes showing around 127,000 bpd of Escravos loading in September, rising to 153,000 bpd in October. This is still far lower than peak Escravos production of more than 300,000 bpd.
Nigeria has more than 800,000 bpd of crude oil shut in mainly due to sabotage attacks on oil facilities, according to oil companies and industry sources.
