TOKYO, March 23 - Idemitsu Kosan Co, Japan's third-largest refiner, said on Monday it plans to refine 2.05 million kilolitres of crude oil in April, down 570,000 kl or 22 percent from a year earlier, amid weak domestic demand.
The oil refiner also said it planned to refine 17 percent less crude oil in April-June, a reduction of 1.30 million kl, from the same quarter a year earlier.
The company said last month it was likely to refine around 300,000 kl (about 1.9 million barrels) less crude in April than a year earlier due to refinery maintenance.
Idemitsu moved forward the scheduled maintenance on a 220,000 barrels per day crude distillation unit at its Chiba refinery to April 6, up from a earlier start plan of mid-April.
