JAKARTA, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's oil production averages 899,000 barrels per day (bpd) until December 2007, much below the target of 950,000 bpd in the state budget, according to local media on Monday.

Falling oil production has caused revenues in the oil and gas sector to fall to the estimate of 174.49 trillion rupiah (18.55 billion U.S. dollars) from 207.47 trillion rupiah (22.05 billion dollars) in 2006, major national newspaper Kompas reported Monday, quoting the latest data from the Ministry of Finance.

December was the least productive month with production fell to the average of 810,000 bpd.

For 2008, oil production is targeted at 1.03 million bpd, according to the newspaper.
