On December 21, 2010, the awarding ceremony for China-Africa Friendship Award the Top 10 Chinese Enterprises in Africa and inauguration of China Enterprises Charity Fund to Africa were held in the Great Hall of the People, hosted by Chinese-African People s Friendship Association and China Radio International under the instruction of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese People s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Mission of African Countries to China.
By virtue of its outstanding contribution and social influence in Africa, CGGC won the award and ranked 2 among the Top 10 Chinese Enterprises in Africa.
Ren Jianguo, Vice President of CGGC accepted the award and the initiator s certificate of China Enterprises Charity Fund to Africa presented by African children. Ablet Abdur shit, Vice Chairman of Chinese People s Political Consultative Conference, warmly met and took a photo with representatives of the winner enterprises.
It s known that China-Africa Friendship Award was established by Chinese-African People s Friendship Association in 2006, aiming to commend individuals and entities that dedicated to the friendship between China and Africa with outstanding contributions to the undertaking. The award was successfully held twice in 2006 and 2009, appraising top 10 Chinese in Africa and top 5 African in China. The first president of Zambia, Kaunda et al won the award. This year s Award, since the selection and appraisal started in March, 2010, got intensive attention from both Chinese people and African people. After steps of extensive nomination, experts review and on-line voting, ten enterprises, including CGGC, won the award, who surely deserve the award for their active endeavors in development and construction of African countries, great contributions to the economic and social advancement in these regions and fulfilling of their responsibilities to the society to pay back to the warmly welcome of local people. The ten enterprises, as initiators of the above-said fund, will continue to work on projects beneficial to African people in the name of the enterprises.
