The balance of broad money supply (M2), which covers cash in circulation and all deposits, was 69.98 trillion yuan at the end of October, up 19.3 percent year-on-year, the People's Bank of China (PBOC), the central bank, announced Thursday.
The growth rate of M2 was 0.3 percentage point higher than last month and 10.2 percentage points lower than the same period of last year.
The balance of narrow measure of money supply (M1), cash in circulation plus current corporate deposits, increased by 22.1 percent year-on-year to 25.33 trillion yuan by the end of October, the PBOC said. The growth rate of M1 was 1.2 percentage points higher than last month and 9.9 percentage points lower than the same period of last year.
The balance of cash in circulation (M0) was 4.16 trillion yuan, up 16.6 percent year-on-year, it said.
The net withdrawal in October was 20.8 billion yuan, 85 billion yuan less from a year ago.
