NEW YORK, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- U.S. crude-oil futures closed up 86 cents at 96.32 dollars a barrel Friday on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Analysts said this was because investors were concerned that oil supplies may keep tightening and increasing political tensions in Pakistan may pose a threat to oil shipments.

The contract slid to an intraday low of 94.54 dollars in electronic trading earlier.
