Houston, TX - November 01, 2007

The Dow Chemical Company ( Dow ) has announced a $0.06/lb. price increase across North America for all polyolefin film products, effective December 1, 2007, or as soon thereafter as contracts permit.

"A sustained cost push from raw materials, such as polyethylene resin, has negatively impacted margins for polyolefin films, said Luiz Stortini, global business director for SARAN Products and Specialty Films. Strong global demand for polyethylene impacts the price and availability of the resin, which in turn affects film production. We remain committed to meeting the industry s needs for high-quality polyolefin films.

Film products affected by the price increase include all grades of DOW Adhesive Films (DAF Films), INTEGRAL Adhesive Films, DOW Low Density Films (LDF Films), TRENCHCOAT Protective Films, DOW Medical Packaging Films (MPF Films), and OPTICITE SQZ Polyolefin Label Films.
