NEW YORK, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Crude-oil futures pulled back from Friday's highest-ever close on Monday on speculation that the economy of the United States, the world's largest oil consumer, may be dragged down by the credit crisis.

Sweet, light crude for December delivery closed down 1.95 dollars, or 2 percent, to 93.98 dollars a barrel on New York Mercantile Exchange.

On Friday, U.S. crude finished at a record closing price of 95.93 dollars a barrel. The contract touched a record intraday high of 96.24 dollars in electronic trading last Thursday.
