With immediate effect or as contracts allow, BASF is increasing the sales prices for ethylene carbonate and propylene carbonate worldwide by Euro120 per metric ton in Europe and US$170 per metric ton in NAFTA and Asia.
These price adjustments are necessary to support BASF's ongoing efforts to assure highest levels of product and service quality to its customers globally in times of continued increases in raw materials and energy costs.
Ethylene carbonate and propylene carbonate are chemical intermediates used in a wide range of applications in the lubricants, foundry, polyurethane and coatings industries. As a leading manufacturer of ethylene carbonate and propylene carbonate, BASF operates a world-scale plant for these products at its Verbund site in Ludwigshafen, Germany.
