Maintenance shut down at Thai PTT ethylene plant planned for 2008

Thailand's largest olefin manufacturer - PTT Chemical Pcl, has planned maintenance shutdowns at its ethylene plants in 2008. PTT plans to shut two of its three ethylene plants in Map Ta Phut, in Rayong province, for maintenance.
The first plant, with 461,000 tpa output, accounting for 36% of the company's ethylene capacity, will be closed for 40 days between June and July 2008.
A second plant, with 300,000 tons annual capacity, accounting for 24% of the company's ethylene capacity, will undergo a 60-day overhaul between November and December.
A third plant was shutdown for 73 days, to enable expansion of ethylene capacity by 34% to 515,000 tons in March-April 2007.
