13 August 2007 Faster production of peroxide crosslinked pipe (PEX A pipe) is promised from the use of a new generation of infrared ovens available from German company iNOEX as a result of a co-operative agreement with the oven s manufacturer CrossLink (Finland).
The infra red ovens supply a regular and controlled amount of heat into the crosslinking process. An integrated cooling system protects the skin of the pipe from overheating or forming blowholes.
iNOEX says the CrossLink ovens complement its saveomat line of gravimetric dosing equipment used for precise addition of peroxide to the crosslinking process.
The quality of crosslinking in the PEX A pipe is unaffected by the faster extrusion speeds that can be achieved from use of CrossLink. Ovens can be retrofitted into existing production lines.
The two companies are continuing to work together on the integration of the CrossLink ovens into iNOEX control terminals.
A crosslinking system using the new infrared ovens will be demonstrated on the iNOEX stand at K2007.
