To fulfill demand growth for reinforced nylon resins in Asia, notably demand from the growing field of electronic and automotive applications, Dupont had initiated polyamide compounding expansion in Korea.DuPont Engineering Polymers has accomplished the successful expansion of polyamide compounding capacity at its production site in Ulsan, South Korea by 20,000 tpa. The 20,000 tpa capacity encompasses Duponts' range of Zytel polyamide 6 and 66 resins.
Besides this investment, Dupont has earmarked an additional US$200 mln towards global capacity expansion for its polymers business over over the next 3 years. In Asia, the company plans to build a new polymer plant to produce Zytel HTN high performance polyamide and Vespel in Singapore.
