Dow Chemical Company will implement a price increase on caustic soda for US customers, the company announced via press release Monday.
Dow will increase off schedule selling prices for both membrane and diaphragm grades of caustic soda by $30/dry short ton. The price increase was said to be effective immediately or as contracts allow.
The company noted that all Temporary Voluntary Allowances (TVA's) now in place shall remain in effect and will not be affected by the increase.
The announcement follows a price increase by Oxy which was announced late last week, sources said Monday. Oxy announced a $30/dst increase for US customers and a $35/dst price increase for Canadian customers, sources said Monday.
Strong demand and snug inventories have helped to support the increases, sources said.
