Dow in Talks for Iraqi Chemical Plant

Dow Chemical and Royal Dutch Shell are in talks with the Iraqi government for project valued at up to $2.1 billion to renovate and expand a chemical plant near the city of Basra, according to a recent Reuters' news report. Fawzi Hariri, Iraq s minister of industry and minerals, says that talks on creating a joint venture or a profit-sharing arrangement could conclude this year, Reuters reports. Dow says it does not comment on speculation and rumors.
