In a bid to boost its position in a fast-growing Asian market, Japan's Nippon Oil Corp plans to start commercial operations of its new petrochemical facilities at its Sendai refinery from October-November
Nippon Oil has completed construction of a 300,000 pa xylene production unit, a 100,000 tpa propylene unit and a 60,000 tpa benzene unit. The propylene-making unit will start operations from October, while the other three units will enter commercial operations from November.
