Indonesia's Tuban Petrochemical Industry (Tuban Petro) plans to invest US$400 mln to expand the capacity of paraxylene of its subsidiary PT Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI) starting next year. TPPI has been operating at 120% of its installed capacity of 500,000 tons of paraxylene, since it came on line in 2006.

The expansion is needed to meet growing demand in the country for aromatic products especially paraxylene to feed purified terephthalic acid (PTA) industry.
