Write: Roger [2011-05-20]
BASF is to increase its prices in Europe for neopentylglycol, trimethylolpropane and hydroxypivalic acid neopentylglycolester with immediate effect or as allowed by contract:

Neopentylglycol (NPG) / + euros 0.15/kg
Trimethylolpropane (TMP) / + euros 0.19/kg
Hydroxypivalic acid neopentylglycolester (HPN) / + euros 0.15/kg

The price adjustment are being made to reflect increased operating, logistics as well as raw material costs and to assure the highest levels of product and service quality to BASF s customers.

Polyalcohols are widely used in solvent-free coatings as well as in the production of polyurethanes, alkyd resins and synthetic lubricants.
