NEW YORK, Feb. 25-- Crude futures prices rose above 99U.S. dollars a barrel on Monday amid concerns on the Middle East and strong oil product prices.
Turkish troops engaged Kurdish rebels in close combat on Sunday in a major ground offensive into northern Iraq. Support for the price rise also came from the tension between Iran and the West over Tehran's nuclear ambitions.
Record heating oil prices brought by cold weather across the U.S. Midwest and Northeast also boosted the prices, said analysts.
Light, sweet crude oil for April delivery was up 42 cents at 99.23 dollars a barrel while London Brent crude gained 68 cents to 97.69 dollars.
