This year, Iran's total output of petrochemical is expected to go up by 43% as compared to the last year to reach a figure of 35 mln tpa. This rise is attributed to the 11 newly initiated petrochemical complexes this year. As a result, the profits are projected to drive up to US$12 bln (including US$8 bln from exports) thus registering a growth of 41% from the previous year.
A senior authority in petrochemical affairs mentioned the commencement of study for construction of the ethylene pipeline from Tabriz to Miyandoab and the final decision on the same will be declared soon, which will further have a major impact on increasing the production.
