TOKYO, March 25 - Japan Energy Corp, the nation's sixth-biggest oil refiner, said on Wednesday it plans to cut its crude oil processing volumes for April-June by 7 percent from the same period a year earlier as the recession erodes oil demand.

Japan Energy, the refining unit of Nippon Mining Holdings Inc, plans to refine 5.20 million kilolitres of crude oil including condensate in the second quarter, a company spokesman said.

For the January-March period, Japan Energy estimated its crude refining volume at 5.45 million kl, including condensate, down 12 percent from a year earlier and compared with its initial plan of 5.55 million kl.
