MEXICO CITY, June 8 - German software group SAP (SAPG.DE) denied on Monday any wrongdoing in the wake of last week's resignation of a senior Mexican oil executive who been accused by a newspaper of accepting a trip from the company.

Manuel Reynauld, Pemex's [PEMX.UL] deputy director of business processes and technology infrastructure, resigned on Friday after the newspaper Reforma said he had accepted a trip to a Formula One event in Monaco from SAP shortly after the software company received a $30 million contract.

SAP acknowledged in a statement that it takes clients to Formula One events but noted that its own policies prohibit inviting clients who are not permitted to accept hospitality.

"Based on the information currently available SAP believes its policies and internal processes were followed in the correct manner and there was no attempt to inappropriately influence any business decisions," the company said in a statement.

Pemex said on Friday it was investigating the incident and had requested details from SAP.
