PERTH, Aug 17 - ExxonMobil Corp (XOM.N) plans to extend oil and gas production from its resources in the Bass Strait off southeast Australia by at least 30 years, the company said on Monday.

Exxon said it plans to bring two more fields online for the Kipper-Tuna and Turrum projects, located off the southeastern state of Victoria, with joint venture partner BHP Billiton Ltd (BHP.AX)(BLT.L).

An extension to the projects' production life could add an extra 140 million barrels of oil and gas liquids production and 1.6 trillion cubic feet of gas, ExxonMobil said in speech notes for an industry conference.

"These projects represent an investment of almost A$3 billion ($2.5 billion) and will be one of the mainstays of Bass Strait production into the future," ExxonMobil Australia's Chairman, John Dashwood, said in a statement. ($1=1.205 Australian Dollar)
