CALGARY, Alberta, Sept 28 - Regulators invited oil companies on Monday to submit nominations for offshore acreage off Newfoundland, where three projects including Hibernia produce crude and a fourth is under development.
The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board called for nominations for exploration blocks in the northeast Grand Banks of the North Atlantic, and in the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement area off the mainland coast.
Nominations, a preliminary step before calling for bids, are due on November 2, the CNLOBP said.
Other producing oil projects off Canada's East Coast are Terra Nova and White Rose. Companies led by Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM.N) are developing the Hebron project.
