Sunoco's NJ refinery stopped production

Nov 5 - Oil and gas company Rex Energy Corp (REXX.O) posted a wider-than-expected quarterly loss, hurt in part by a fall in oil and gas sales.

The exploration and production company posted net loss of $1.2 million, or 3 cents a share, net earnings of $36.8 million, or $1.00 a share, in the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, the company posted a loss of 6 cents a share, while analysts on an average were looking for a loss of 5 cents a share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

Revenue was down 48 percent at $13.1 million, while analysts expected $14.2 million.

Realized prices for oil fell 24 percent to $63.06 per barrel, and realized gas prices fell 31 percent to $6.33 per million cubic feet, the company said in a statement.
