NEW YORK, Jan 21 - Standard & Poor's said on Thursday NRG Energy Inc (NRG.N) will replace Sun Microsystems Inc (JAVA.O) in the benchmark S&P 500 index .SPX.
The change will be made after the close of trading on a date to be announced, S&P said.
