New policy for reducing flight delays

Write: Nabulung [2011-05-20]

Chinese airline companies will not be able to operate certain flights for the rest of the air season and disqualified to apply in the next if they have a delay for more than four hours that involved their failure in coordination, said the Civil Aviation Administration of China in its latest attempt to rectify flight delays, Beijing Youth Daily reported.

The CAAC requires airline companies to reserve 2% of their total capacity for emergency back-ups when delays occur, in which Air China, China Eastern and China Southern are told to have one jet each in standby at Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou airports.
