Volvo is recalling 300 of its S40, V50 and C30 cars of Model Year 2009-2011 in Singapore, local media reported on Wednesday.

Local distributor Wearnes Automotive said in a letter to affected local customers that recent investigations have identified that the engine RPM may oscillate at low speed or when idling, local TV broadcaster Channel NewsAsia said.

This condition is prone to occur in high temperatures resulting in the vehicle jerking and/or stalling.

The letter said depending on the driving situation, this might lead to risk of personal injuries and/or property damages.

The distributor said it would update the affected cars with new engine management software. This procedure will be completed in an hour and be available free to affected customers.
