One consumer in Shanghai said "I came here to buy a pair of gloves with a rabbit pattern for my girlfriend. I think this is a meaningful gift the year of the rabbit is approaching."
Shopkeepers prepared for this months in advance. And although demand is hot, the prices are not.
One boutique keeper said "I could sell lots of slippers with rabbit patterns everyday. But the price are very cheap as a result of fierce competition."
Meanwhile, gold jewelry with rabbit elements are also being snatched up. Shops are even selling gold bars and plates with rabbit signs on them.
Mr. Lin, Yinfengxiang Goldshop said "Now gold bars and jewelery with rabbit patterns are in hot demand. We can sell more than twenty pieces everyday. The rabbit patterns better than ever before, they are welcomed by our customers."
