The opening ceremony of the Expo Central China 2010 was held in Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi Province September 26, 2010.
September 26, CRIENGLISH.com - Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan said Sunday that China will be more open to the world and the investment environment will continue to improve.
Wang made the remarks at a summit forum of the three-day Expo Central China 2010 in Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi Province, which is scheduled to run from Sept. 26 to 28.
China would work to improve regulations and policies with regard to foreign investment, Wang added.
Wang said ongoing industrialization and urbanization would create a huge domestic market, which would present many opportunities for China's development.
However, Wang warned of the challenges facing China, including the task of keeping the balance between economic growth, promoting economic restructuring and managing inflation expectations, as well as uncertainties in the external environment.
Wang said the world economy was recovering slowly, but in a haphazard way.
He urged China's central provinces to seize the opportunity for development as the rise of central China was crucial to "promote the country's overall, balanced and sustainable development."
Wang called for more efforts from the central region to accelerate economic restructuring and explore a new mode of industrialization and urbanization.
The central part should also step up infrastructure construction and better regulate market order to attract more domestic and foreign investment, Wang said.
