A stamp issuing ceremony was held synchronously in Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu and Shandong Provinces, marking the 60th anniversary of Huaihe River Control, learned from the Huaihe River Water Resource Commission of the Ministry of Water Resource, Oct.14.
"The stamps reveal the state's high concern about harnessing Huaihe River and demonstrate the achievement on controlling Huaihe River over 60 years, featuring a significant historical meaning", said water resource experts.
Designed by Zhang Shiqi, each set of stamps has four pieces with the face value of 1.20 yuan, describing the main projects including Nanwan reservoir of Huainan, Linhuaigang Flood Control Project of Anhui, the sea-entering channel of Huaihe River in Jiangsu and Nansihu second-class water control project in Shandong.
