As of now, there have been 834 law firms and 8,813 lawyers in Zhejiang Province, an increase of 47 and 762 respectively over last year, with growth rates of 6% and 9.5%.
According to statistics, in the first half of this year, lawyers in the province serve as legal counsels for17,796 companiesanddeal with 99,925 cases of all kinds, among which there are 13,975 criminal cases, 67,588 civil cases, 2,290 administrative cases, 7,773 non-litigation legal affairs, 5,727 mediation cases, 2,266 arbitration cases and 5,371 legal aid cases. 87,156 lawyers are involved in consulting and writing legal documents and the number of those involving in legal petition is 1,723.
