The day before yesterday, the closing ceremony of the 12-day 6th WCG was held in Keqiao. Attracting 472 choirs from 83 countries and regions, it is the largest one ever since WCG came into being. Altogether 21,700 guests, singers, musicians and jury members participated in it.
It is so exciting and satisfying for 220,000-plus spectators to enjoy nearly 500 choir contests of 20 categories, more than 50 gala concerts, friendly concerts and performances of folk music and dance worldwide.
According to statistics, the open contests(Part I) have given birth to 58 gold medals, 106 silver medals and 25 bronze medals; the open contests(Part II) have given birth to 16 gold medals, 27 silver medals and 7 bronze medals; the champions contests(Part I) have produced 47 gold medals, 76 silver medals and 24 bronze medals; the champions contests(Part II) have produced 19 gold medals, 41 silver medals and 4 bronze medals. There are 19 champions in all.
