Zhao Hongzhu Meets with Li Ao

On the morning of August 30th, Secretary of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People s Congress Zhao Hongzhu met with Li Ao, a cultural celebrity from Taiwan and his party.

Zhao Hongzhu bid welcome to Li Ao and his party, briefed them on the social and economic development of Zhejiang as well as the cultural exchange between Zhejiang and Taiwan, and expressed strong willingness to help to bring about the joint exhibition of the two pieces of the scroll painting Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains kept in Zhejiang Provincial Museum and the National Palace Museum in Taipei respectively.

Li Ao proposed advice on enhancing cultural exchange between Mainland and Taiwan, especially between Taiwan and Zhejiang and expressed anticipation for the joint exhibition to be launched as soon as possible.

Link: Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains is a magnum opus of Huang Gongwang, a Yuan Dynasty painter. It was once burnt and broke into two pieces, a larger one and a smaller one. The smaller piece titled Remnant Mountain is now kept in Zhejiang Museum; the larger piece titled Master Wuyong Volume is now kept in the National Palace Museum in Taipei.
