Lishui Builds Chinese Medicine Crops Export Base

On the morning of September, 15th, at the 2010 Cross-Straits (Lishui) Fair for Economic, Technological and Trade Exchange in Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry, Lishui Municipal Government signed a framework agreement with China National Corporation of Traditional and Herbal Medicine and thus became a designated export base of traditional Chinese medicine of the corporation.

At the same time, Lishui also signed collaboration agreements with two Taiwan enterprises on the export of traditional Chinese medicine and the promotion of the use of organic fertilizer or manure used in agricultural production in Taiwan.

Traditional Chinese medicine is one of Lishui s regional special industries. Currently, the scale of traditional Chinese medicine crops totals 199,800 mu, ranking at the top of the province. Its output of artificially cultivated mangnolia officinalis amounts to half of the total national yield. And the output of tuckahoe and lentinus edodes also accounts for one third of the national total. What s more, Lishui is also a major producing area of rhizoma corydalis and bighead atractylodes rhizome in the country.
