The Provincial government held the 2010 annual West Lake Friendship Award Ceremony on September 15th, in Hangzhou. 30 foreign experts working in Zhejiang accepted this prestigious award. These experts, with their expertise covering more than 10 fields including agriculture and education, etc., come from the U.S. and Japan, and 12 other countries.
Over the past few years, an average of 25,000 foreign experts have been invited to work in the province annually. A total of 338 experts have been awarded the West Lake Friendship Award since the award was first given in 1997. Among them, 33 experts also won the National Friendship Award after being recommended for it.
