Zhejiang Recycling Economy Forum was held in Hangzhou on September, 16th. Participants at the forum had an in-depth discussion on The Proposals on Accelerating the Development of Recycling Economy (Consultative Draft) (hereafter referred to as The Proposals) and offered valuable suggestions on it.
Zhejiang was approved as one of the second batch of pilot provinces for recycling economy in 2007. And specific goals, tasks and policies and measures are presented in The Proposals with regard to the development of recycling economy in Zhejiang Province. It is learned that through efforts made in the last few years, Zhejiang has significantly improved its level of resource utilization and its utilization rate of renewable resources, effectively controlled the discharge of major pollutants and greatly improved its eco-environmental quality.
By 2015, the output value of the integrated utilization of key resources in the province will amount to 150 billion yuan; water consumption per ten-thousand-yuan GDP will be lower than 78 cubic meters; and the rate of the comprehensive utilization of solid industrial wastes will exceed 90%.
