The delegation of Ararat, Australia visited Huzhou recently and held a wine tasting session at Huzhou International Hotel. Officials in charge of foreign affairs, heads of wine associations and chief winemakers from Ararat tasted 6 brands of red wine produced in Ararat with representatives from over 20 wine traders and dining enterprises in Huzhou.
Ararat is located in South Australia and is a city in Victoria. It covers an area of 4,230 square kilometers and has a population of 12,000. Winemaking industry is highly developed in Ararat, and the wine produced takes up one third of that of whole Australia. With Shiraz, the best grape in Victoria, used in winemaking, the quality of wine is of unparalleled excellence.
Huzhou and Ararat built friendly exchange relationships in 2008 and the exchange this time is the first of its kind. The success of this wine tasting session will enhance the understanding between the two cities, and promote the exchange and cooperation in economy and trade, culture and education.
