Safety shoes made in Wenzhou city for export to EU market could get the CE certificate locally if they meet the export standards that enacted by Wenzhou Bureau of Inspection and Quarantine and their Italian counterpart, said the official in Wenzhou Bureau of Inspection and Quarantine on December 8, 2010.
On previous days shoemakers in Wenzhou have to test their products on Guangzhou, hanghai or even go abroad for getting the CE certificate. Nowadays safety shoes can be tested in Wenzhou quality inspection department to acquire the CE certificate.
Testing to safety shoes quite differs from normal shoe. Safety shoes stress the security functions and prevent the wearers from accidental injury on their foot. As of November safety shoe exports reached US$ 206 million in Wenzhou city, the authority to issue CE certificate for safety shoes in Wenzhou city can save more time and costs for shoemakers, said the quality testing department.
