Bangladesh shows a prospect on leather goods export

Exports for leather goods in Bangladesh on current the financial year stands at US$460 million and will target US$564 million, said Banladesh national government on setting industrial export plan. The industrial experts are optimistic on the exports for leather goods, which they prodict to reach US$610 million in next financial year, US$1 billion may break in the year 2012.
Bangladesh provides between 2% and 3% of the world s leather. Most of the livestock base for this production is domestic, which is estimated as comprising 1.8 % of the world s cattle stock and 3.7 % of the goat stock. The hides and skins have a good international reputation.
Duty free on leather and leather goods attracts more international buyers and investors that puts the production of shoe and leather goods here.
