According to a recent report on labor newspaper in Slovenia, European Federation of Footwear Industries will pursue strict monitor to leather shoes from China and Vietnam instead of the extension of dumping duty which will be expired on the date in this March.
The report said EU anti-dumping on Chinese and Vietnam shoes started in 2006 because huge jobs lost in EU shoemaking industries and 10 times increased in shoe imports from China from 2001 to 2006. Leather shoes imported from China dropped by one third in price, 20% from Vietnam, but retail sales remained the same. CITATION http://www.chinaleather.org/eng/show.php?itemid=5815
