Nike's Q2 sales in China reach US$482 million

Nike, the world's leading sportswear producer and seller, has said that its sales revenue in China totaled US$482 million in the second quarter of fiscal year 2011 ended Dec. 31, 2010, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 20%.
Of the total sales, US$264 million and US$191 million was derived from sales of footwear and clothing products, up 26% and up 12% year on year, respectively. Sales in sport accessory products soared 17% year on year and totaled US$27 million.
In the reporting period, Nike's earnings before interest and tax or EBIT were US$174 million, up 39% year on year.
Reportedly, Nike has launched a logistics base in Taicang, Jiangsu Province last week.
The base, the firm's largest one in Asia with a land area of around 120,000 square meters, will be responsible for the logistics and operation management of sportswear products. CITATION http://www.chinaleather.org/eng/show.php?itemid=5889
