China: Sports shoemakers to raise sale price by 10%

The continuing growth in prices of petroleum, rubber and cotton, combined with labor cost soaring, press the sports shoe producers to increase their sale price, because petroleum and rubber are the essential materials for making sports shoes. The surging range may from 5% to 10%.
Sportswears of Anta and 361 degrees pointed out on their recent released fiscal reports the price raising is an inevitable trend. The industrial experts in Sichuan province told the reporter with Chengdu Business News that costs of shoe production will increase by 10% as impacted by surging of raw materials.
Anta said on its financial report that we had raised the sale price and apparel by 4% for shoes and 8.8% for apparel in 2010, and 10% increasing for 2011 is expected to cope with production cost growing.
The other branded sports shoes like Xtep and Peak also expressed intention to raise the sale prices in 2011, because they say our suppliers have increased the price on sole and supporting materials .
