Current survey show that 89% of sampling testing on leather shoes made and sold in Shanghai market is match to quality standard, which is conducted by Shanghai Bureau of Quality Supervision for fourth quarter of 2010, in Beijing the qualification rate is 77% for lady s leather shoes.
The quality issues on lady s leather shoes mainly focus on marks, appearances, shank and folding property.
CLIA Footwear Office director Wei Yafei said the industry should put the quality first on making of lady s shoes. Current lady's shoes stress more on styles and fashion trend and less on shoe quality.
China has more ladies shoe brands than men s. According to survey show 10 pairs of shoe sold in market 6 of them are for ladies, one for children s, three for men, in export terms the lady s shoes accounts for 70% to 80% of whole shoe exportation.
The industry experts believe for shoemakers the quality is still most important factor on making lady s shoes, fashion style should be put on second position, if no quality guarantees the brand reputation and sales will lost their market.
The world market for lady s shoes has amounted to 8 billion pairs worth 300 billion yuan in 2010, and sales in domestic department stores rank the third next to apparel. To achieve more market shares the shoemakers should give top priority to quality, and well balance with fashion style, said the survey.
