Lower-tier cities department store is national brand shoe outlet

Fan yanru, vice general secretary of China Commerce Association for General Mechandise made remark on a current Cooperative Forum for National Brands and Department Stores, saying this forum establishes a stage for strengthening cooperation between national brands and department stores, national footwear brands mostly sold through low and medium-price market or franchise stores are always turned away by high threshold of department stores, where are dominated by high-end products.
Fan proposed shoe brands in Quanzhou city should establish business relation with department stores in lower tier cities at beginning, and national brands can gain more market there.
Not all national brands of shoe can gain the market share in larger cities department store but they may sell well on lower tier cities, said fan, adding that Anta and Li Ning brands of shoe set a typical example on lower tier cities for shoe sales.
Further more and more national large department stores have launched overall expansion on second and third tier cities, taking the example in Fujian province Shiamo Department Store and Wanqian Store opened their branches in Fuzhou city in recent months, Tianhong Department Stores opened two stores in Quanzhou and Yong an cities, actually market in lower tier cities has more consumption power than that in first tier cities. These newly opened department stores in lower tier cities set target on consumers with medium income who are likely to buy national made products as they are sold at lower price and have good quality.
